About Me
Krishna Venkatesh a GATE scholar, Mechanical Engineer by profession and an alumni of the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore holds a Ph.D in Nanotribology. He has over 25 years of Industrial, Research, Academic, Consultancy and Administrative experience. He is currently the Founder Director of CIIRC and has established research cum incubation labs in different domains of S&T. He is also the VTU Executive Council Member, Member Karnataka Knowledge Commission (UAS) and Steering Committee Member TUV Rheinland.
Personal Experience:
During his two decade career he has worked with NAL, BEML, IISc, DRDO, Visvesvaraya Technological University and Jain University in different capacities. As Special officer of VTU he was responsible for numerous trans-national initiatives to set up academic and research programmes with the likes of Honeywell for Avionics, FESTO for Mechatronics, Diamant for Tribology and others. At Jain University he was responsible in shaping numerous initiatives and held concurrent roles as the Dean and Director of Research and Engineering having been the Founder Director of Centre for Emerging Technologies. He was also responsible for the Technology Business Incubator at JU funded by DST and Alstom from France being its CEO and a FIST centre from DST for an Advanced Instrument Facility. Additionally he established the TUV Rheinland Energy programme at JU.
He has also completed numerous research projects and was instrumental in Jain University getting more than 25 projects worth about 20 Crores funded by DRDO, DOS, DST, DOS, DAE, MOFPI, NRB, KCTU and private bodies. Venkatesh has numerous research publications, citations, products, monographs, book chapters and patents (filed) to his credit and has been conferred with awards from Diamant of Germany, KSCST, Honeywell, Indian Institution of Engineers and others. Additionally he also happens to be the Director of Drone Aerospace a company that is into the development of Micro Air Vehicles. Drone Aero represented India at The US Army-Asian technology demonstration for Micro Air Vehicles and Unmanned ground vehicles and finished in the top 10 from competitors competing worldwide in 2008 and Drone in partnership with DC enterprises won the 2014 edition of NP-MICAV event in mission mode sponsored by DRDO and CSIR.
His research interest include Tribology, Autonomous Systems and Energy. He is also a fellow of various professional bodies like IEI, TSI, ISAMPE, IIPE and others besides having been a delegate to various countries as part of FICCI, GoK etc. An avid sports person he also represented the State and University in his younger years as a swimmer and is the recipient of many awards. Besides he is also into white water rafting and spice farming.
